Your third molars or wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt, usually between the ages of 16 and 21. If the teeth erupt properly and are healthy, then they require no treatment. However, most of the time, this does not occur. When there is a problem with the wisdom teeth, they require removal. We take x-rays to evaluate your wisdom teeth and determine if removal is necessary. If it is, we discuss the treatment with you and any complications that could arise.
Depending on the number of wisdom teeth and the difficulty of removal, we may discuss putting you to sleep to remove them. This will be discussed at your consultation appointment with us. Our facility is equipped to keep you safe and comfortable when undergoing this procedure.
After the removal of your wisdom teeth, we will go over detailed instructions to help you as the area heals.
